Managing Partner

Wale Adekola

He has over twenty years cognate experience in Banking and Finance with competence in credit/portfolio management relationship management and financial advisory services prior to his law practice. A Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Banker, Mortgage/Real Estate Practitioner and Management Consultant, Wale has been in the business of providing solutions in private and corporate environment including public sector. He was involved in the setting up of three financial institutions, including a Commercial Bank (Broad Bank Limited). He served as the Secretary General and Public Relations Officer of the Money Market Association of Nigeria between 1995 and 1996.

He is a member of the Nigeria institute of Marketing (MNIM), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Institute of Management (MNIM), Chartered Institute of Arbitration and the Institute of Financial Planning (MIFP) before joining the firm as a partner. He has worked extensively in Corporate Restructuring, Human Capital Development and Financial Intermediation with local and international exposures. He worked in various capacities in the Banking & Finance Industry and Real Estate industry as management staff including being a General Manager with Lagoon Home Savings & Loans (Mortgage Bankers)Limited and President of De Regale & Associates a Consulting Firm with advisory bodies in UK & USA. He is currently the Presiding Partner in the law firm of DCA Solicitors.

Muyiwa Ayojimi

Muyiwa Ayojimi is a tested and trusted Legal Practitioner with hands-on experience in Company Secretarial/Governance Practice, Commercial Law and Arbitration. With his Corporate & Administrative Intelligence, he has driven corporate performance and deliverables with exceptional attention. His legal practice has spanned well over two decades both in the public and private sectors.

Muyiwa’s experiential works cut across advisory roles and services to leading global brands in at least two of the world’s top five consumer products companies. He has a firm understanding of Commercial Law with strong bias in Consumerism.

His advisory roles both domestic and cross-border, has focused on corporate transactions in the insurance and FMCG industry, having advised on some of the most significant and biggest transactions in the Nigerian Capital Market on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalization & corporate restructuring, leveraged buyouts, going-private deals, joint ventures & Spin-offs, divestitures, and strategic investments.

Muyiwa Ayojimi is a consumer-centric and conflict resolution enthusiast. He is a Company Secretary Extra-Ordinaire. He is convener of the Centre for Consumer Concern, (a group committed to advance the cause of Consumer Rights in Nigeria and he is also a leading voice in The West Africa Committee of Consumer Advocates.) currently The Executive Secretary of the Society for Notaries Public, and Director of Consumertrics Nigeria, a Consummate Consulting Firm.

He is an Associate of both the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria. He is a member of the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria, a Member of the Institute of Management and the leading authority on Notary Public practice in Nigeria.

He has participated in several thought leadership sessions and written several articles especially on Consumer Protection. He is also an Author and seats on the Board of some private Companies.

COnsulting Associate

Olufemi Oguntokun

Olufemi Oguntokun is a Consulting Associate at DCA. He has been in active legal practice in Nigeria for more than 18 years, including practicing with the top-tier firms of Olaniwun Ajayi & Co. and G. Elias & Co. He was also formerly a partner at Sefton Fross, leading the firm’s full-fledged corporate commercial and transactions documentation practice.

He has extensive and varied experience advising business concerns on the corporate and commercial aspects of business undertakings and the documentation of complex business and investment transactions.

At Sefton Fross, he led the firm’s role in the Debt Management Office issuance of Nigeria’s first sovereign Sukkuk. He also has rich experience advising industry groups and regulatory bodies on the institution and review of regulatory frameworks for both new and existing industries in Nigeria. As Legal Adviser to the Credit Bureau Association of Nigeria, he worked closely with the Central Bank of Nigeria and the International Finance Corporation to develop the first set of regulations for the industry in 2008 and its subsequent replacements. Clients have consistently commended his analytical and communication skills and his firm grasp of underlying and tangential issues embedded in complex transactions.

While the larger part of his practice has been devoted to acting as an outside counsel, he has also served as General Counsel and Company Secretary to CR Services Plc., the pioneer credit bureau in Nigeria. In that position, he served a distinguished board of directors consisting of managing Directors and Chairmen of banks who were the investors in the credit bureau, oversaw the documentation of the inflow of foreign and local investments into the then-nascent credit bureau and financial technology industry.

He is regularly contracted to draft industry memoranda advocating for policy changes and has represented trades groups before the committees of the National Assembly, state assembles and regulators. His sterling litigation record before the National Industrial Court of Nigeria is also often cited by colleagues.

Olufemi graduated as the Best Overall Student from the Faculty of Law of the Lagos State University in 2000 and subsequently earned a Second Class (Upper) degree from the Nigerian Law School. He has a certificate of competence from the Nigeria Stock Exchange and is studying for advanced degrees in the humanities.

Obafemi Badmus

Obafemi trained as a lawyer in Nigeria and subsequently obtained a Masters degree in Law at the prestigious University of Buckingham, England. Obafemi specializes in Cross Border Regulation of Financial Services with emphasis on the UK, EU and US Markets. He had short stints in the Department of Civil Litigation, Cross Rivers State Government and also worked in a couple of law firms prior to joining DCA. Obafemi has overseen several projects since he joined the firm over a decade ago. He has attended several short courses in Project Management, Regulatory Impact Analysis, Leadership and Education.

Akinkunle Akin-Ajayi

Akinkunle Akin-Ajayi is a partner and Head of the Public Sector/Regulatory Advisory Group. He holds an LL.B from the Lagos State University; B. L. from the Nigeria Law School; LL.M (iv) Oil & Gas Law, University of Pretoria, South Africa and the Centre for Energy Petroleum Mineral Law & Policy University of Dundee. He began his career at the firm of Roli Harrimann & Co. and later Abudu Dalley & Co. before joining De Cathedral as a senior partner.

He was later seconded to Lilburn Millenia Projects Ltd. And has advised the Company on Oil vessel service contracts, independent power concerns and most importantly he facilitated the legal negotiations of a 720 Hectares real estate contract between the Ogun State Government and the Company.

Akinkunle has also written numerous articles relating to the Energy Sector. He is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association and the International Bar Association.

Associate

Adebola Kalejaiye

Bola is a senior associate of the Corporate/Commercial group. She obtained her law degree from the University of Ilorin. Prior to joining De Cathedral, she worked as an attorney at the firm of Chief Fadairo Chambers.  She specializes in Secured Credit transactions, Leasing Contracts Corporate and Legal Compliance. She is currently on secondment to the legal/corporate division of R. T Briscoe Nigeria.

Adeola Osibeluwo

She is a member of the litigation and immigration group. She obtained her law degree form the Ogun State University, Nigeria and also, a professional member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, London. She was in the core litigation practice of Kalaro & Kalaro before her entry into the firm. Her areas of specialization are immigration matters, civil/criminal litigation as well as Corporate Governance and Company Secretarial matters.

Oyokunyi Ulo Asuquo

Oyokunyi holds an LL.B (2nd Class Upper Division) from the Madonna University and the Nigerian Law School, Lagos​​​ B.L (2nd Class Upper Division)

Oyokunyi is a legal practitioner of significant number of years. He is a tested legal resource in our  Commercial and litigation practice team.

He has advised a number of companies and corporate institutions on legal framework and innovative ideas in running businesses in Nigeria. This has cut across statutory compliances with International best practices.

He has made representatives in Courts of superior records and was Part of the defence team in the Popular case of Apo 6, aviation industry related proceedings and significant Election Petition matters across House of Representatives and Senatorial cases with clients who are serving Senators and a Governor on Election Petition matters at the tribunal and at the Court of Appeal.

Mr. Asuquo was with the firm of RICKEY TARFA & CO.​ prior to joining DCA.
